オランダ人アーティスト アンネ・ジーネ（Anne Geene）の作品集。本書は、路上の枯葉や落ち葉、住宅や公共の植栽、コンクリートの隙間に根を張る草花、葉の虫食い、季節ごとに色を変える葉の記録など、さまざまな見た目や季節ごとに変容する植物の標本を探求。平凡な植物の膨大なイメージの記録、収集、整理、編集は、あらゆる姿の植物に対する賛辞であり、日常にありふれた植物の驚くべき美しさが表現されています。作者の作品において、写真そのものが焦点になることは稀です。文脈を無視すれば、写真はとりとめのない事実の記録にすぎないことがほとんどです。つまり、彼女の作品は、他の写真との関連性を以てイメージを記録、整理、配置することで新たなイメージを形成することによって成り立っています。400ページを超えるボリュームで、本そのものが作品となった一冊。
